Your adventure begins with a warm welcome at Marrakech Airport or your hotel, where our friendly team will greet you and prepare you for the journey ahead. From here, we set off toward Ouarzazate, a historic caravan town nestled in the eastern foothills of the High Atlas Mountains, famously known as the Gateway to the Sahara. As we leave Marrakech, the scenery quickly transforms into the breathtaking landscapes of the High Atlas. We’ll pass through the charming Berber village of Taddert before ascending the legendary Tizi n’Tichka Pass, which rises to an impressive 2,260 meters (7,415 feet) above sea level. This winding mountain road offers unforgettable panoramic views of valleys, peaks, and scattered traditional settlements. Our first major stop is the iconic Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, located just 30 kilometers from Ouarzazate. This striking red-earth fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has stood for centuries along the ancient trade route and served as a filming location for many famous movies. Here, we’ll pause to enjoy a delicious lunch with the kasbah as our backdrop before continuing our journey. We then make our way toward the Dades Gorge, passing through Ouarzazate, often called the Hollywood of Africa for its film studios and cinematic landscapes. Traveling along the famed Road of the Thousand Kasbahs, you’ll be captivated by the countless sandcastle-like fortresses that line our route. En route, we’ll stop at Kalaat Mgouna, affectionately known as The City of Roses, celebrated for its fragrant blooms and the annual Rose Festival each May. As the day draws to a close, we’ll arrive at our hotel in the heart of the Dades Gorge, where you can relax, enjoy a hearty dinner, and take in the serene beauty of your surroundings.
After a hearty Moroccan breakfast at your hotel in the Dades Gorge, we’ll set off for another day of exploration through some of Morocco’s most stunning landscapes. Our journey begins by driving back through the scenic Dades Valley, where you’ll encounter the incredible natural rock formation known as “the Monkey Toes.” We’ll also explore the well-preserved 19th-century Kasbah of Ait Yul, a historic fortress that stands as a testament to the region’s rich Berber heritage and architectural traditions. Leaving the Dades Valley, our route takes us toward Tinrghir and the breathtaking Todra Valley. Along the way, enjoy panoramic views of ancient mud-built Berber villages perched gracefully on the hillsides, offering a glimpse into the timeless lifestyle of Morocco’s mountain communities. Our next destination is the majestic Todra Gorge, where towering red cliffs rise up to 300 meters above the valley floor. Take a leisurely walk beneath these dramatic cliffs, soaking in the awe-inspiring scenery. This area is also a favorite for rock climbers, drawn to the gorge’s challenging routes and spectacular natural beauty.
